The Friends in Need Food Bank Society
Our goal has been to provide secure healthy food to any resident of Maple Ridge and/or Pitt Meadows who is in need while allowing them to maintain their dignity.
We currently have one full time and one part time member of staff. Our main workforce are volunteers from a variety of back grounds and abilities. The Friends in Need Food Bank Society is run by an elected, volunteer Board of Directors.

The Board oversees the Executive Director, who oversees staff and volunteers who manage the day-to-day operation of the food bank. We would never be able to accomplish this if not for our talented and dedicated group of over 50 volunteers.
As a non-profit, charitable organization, the Friends in Need Food Bank is able to operate only due to donations of money and food. We have been able to accomplish all of this without any permanent core government funding.
We are completely dependent on donations from individuals, temporary grants and the generosity of local business and service groups, as well as various fundraising efforts, such as our Firefighters for Families or from third party events such as Food Drives run by other people or organizations.
We are a group for the community supported by the community and we are very proud to be able to work with and for the people that we do.
The Friends in Need Food Bank is a member of Food Banks Canada and Food Banks BC and abides by their Code of Ethics.
