DECEMBER
Santa Claus Parade: (last Saturday in November)...
...Following our decorated vehicles, volunteers collect food and cash along the parade route. The Maple Ridge-Pitt Meadows News, in conjunction with a local partner, distributes brown bags in November that local residents can fill and bring to the parade.

Christmas in the Park and parade
Friends will be set up in the park to collect your donations.

NOTE: In both of the December parades above, Friends will be collecting food during the parade again this year. This annual event provides the food bank with over 1500lbs of food that is desperately needed at that time of year. The food bank will also be participating in the Maple Ridge Downtown Business Improvement Association’s Tree in the Park event.

Fire fighters for families
Fire fighters from Pitt Meadows will be shaking thier boots and collecting toy and food donations at the Meadow Vale shopping centre in Pitt Meadows for the Friends in Need Food Bank and the Christmas Hamper society.

Maple Ridge Fire Fighters will be set up at the Save-on-Foods at 227th and 203rd, The Safeway store at Westgate Plaza, Extra Foods on Dewdney Trunk Road to collect food, toys and funds for the Friends in Need Food Bank and the Christmas Hamper Society.

CPRail Holiday Train
The train will be here December 18th 2007
A decorated train carrying famous country musicians stops at Port Haney Wharf for a fun family evening event that raises food and funds for Friends and food banks across Canada. Come down for an evening of fun and entertainment. Hot chocolate will be served, santa and some surprise entertainment will be visiting.
