During the last two weeks performances were held by the Emerald Pig Theatrical Society in Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows. Attendees were asked to bring canned goods and/or cash donations as an entry fee to this free event – Macbeth – A Midsummer’s Nightmare directed by Cathie Young and produced by Kathleen Hatley and Sharon Malone. During the performances in Pitt Meadows on July 18 – 21  cash donations received were $642 and food donations weighed in at 725 lbs. The Maple Ridge production ran from July 25 – 28 and raised an additional $588 and 505 lbs. The total for both productions was:

$1,230 and 1,230 pounds of food. To quote Kathleen Hatley who emceed the Maple Ridge performances, “How strange is that?”

The Friends in Need Food Bank wishes to thank the Team that put the production together and for their continued support of the food bank and all the volunteers who participated on behalf of the production and the Friends in Need.
