How to Help
There are many ways to support Friends in Need Food Bank:

DONATE: Food and cash donations are always appreciated. We have greater buying power than the average customer, so we can turn every $1.00 donation into $2.50 worth of food for our hampers. As for food donations (for a list of suitable items, click here), we accept both non-perishable and perishable donations, thanks to the addition of a cooler and freezers to the depot.
  • Macaroni and cheese (Kraft dinner)
  • Noodle soups (Ichiban)
  • Meals in a tin (stew, ravioli, spaghetti)
  • Canned fruit
  • Canned fish (tuna, salmon)
  • Juice boxes
  • Toddler-sized diapers
  • Soup


  • Donations can be dropped off Monday to Thursday from 8:30am until 12:30pm or a pick up can be arranged. Please call our warehouse at 604-466-3663 extension 2

    THINK FOOD: Recycle your used printer cartridges through this program, which provides funding to Friends. For more information, click here:
    A program encouraging residents to donate their used printer cartridges (mainly inkjet) to the food bank. Local partners host a collection box and mail them when full to the Ontario organization thINK Food at no cost to themselves. Friends receives about $2-3 for each cartridge.


    B.C. SHARE: Buy a $2 B.C. Share coupon when shopping locally for groceries. The funds go directly to Friends. For more information, click here:

    stores allow shoppers to make a $2 donation to Friends. Friends receives vouchers from the stores each month based on the number of coupons purchased.
