Friends in Need Food Bank

Thanks Giving Food Drive

The Thanksgiving Food Drive is a non-denominational project now in its fifth year based on the principle of “neighbours helping neighbours” as explained to me by Josh Penner who is one of the eight District Food Drive Chairs responsible for the Abbotsford District which includes Maple Ridge. A lot of work goes into the organization of this province wide event serving more than 50 cities, going to more than 250,000 addresses and involving more than 6000 volunteers.

On behalf of the Directors, Volunteers and Staff of the Friends in Need Food bank we wish to thank the organizers and the 182 volunteers who spent 338 hours of their time and gathered more than 10,000 pounds of food in Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows for our food bank.  Thank you and the generous community that we live in.

Our depleted food stock is now abundant. Thank you!!
